Romans 4:5 and the term ungodly

‘Ungodly’ means ‘impious’ not ‘positively immoral’ in Romans 4:5.  The modern doctrine of ‘justification by faith alone’ has gone wrong precisely because it fails to grasp this point.  It leaves no room for repentance because it teaches that the positively immoral are justified by faith alone(!) are therefore repentance is pointless.  But the meaning of the passage is that the impious (that is, the religious novice, or one unconcerned with dogma and ritual) is justified by faith alone.  The positively immoral are never justified, unless they repent; they cannot be justified by faith alone because they need repentance.
